For anyone wanting to visit the earthquake and tsunami disaster area - this tour will take you to Ishinomaki and Matsushima Bay - which is one of the three Greatest Sights of Japan. Cruise along the affected coast and visit local museum. Your story-telling guides will show you some of the most affected areas, where you will learn about the reconstruction efforts and disaster prevention.
A member of the Ishinomaki sightseeing volunteer association will join you on the bus as you visit the affected area greatly damaged by the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Disaster. The guide will explain about the disaster and share his/her thoughts.

This is a one day course that explores the area around the Sendai Port. Enjoy some of Sendai’s most popular attractions through a trip that visits Sendai Umino-Mori Aquarium, Outlet Park, and the beer factory. At Sendai Umino-Mori Aquarium, you can see about 25,000 fish of 50 species leisurely swimming in giant tanks that replicate the Sanriku Sea. Watch the impressive and extraordinary dolphin and sea lion performances from stadium seats. This route includes shopping at one of the largest outlet parks in the Tohoku region and visiting and tasting at the KIRIN BREWERY which is one of a Japan’s representative Brewing company.
Covering fashion to sports to other miscellaneous goods, about 120 stores make up Sendai’s large Outlet Park. Buy souvenirs from the 6 prefectures that make up Tohoku area and taste various flavors in the food court. This is a course that lets you see the areas affected by the 3/11 disaster. From the Sendai 3.11 Monument Community Center and Arahama Elementary School, you can see the efforts made in disaster prevention, mitigation, and recovery. This area is close to central Sendai and you can learn and discover what you cannot experience anywhere else. You can also visit the Sendai Umino-Mori Aquarium and reconstructed Sendai Port area.
This center was built in memory of the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake to share the experience with future generations. Displayed are a 3D map of the coastal area hit by the tsunami, before-and-after photos, and panels conveying information about damage, restoration, and reconstruction.

This is a varied course that lets you visit World Heritage sites and learn about disaster & recovery efforts. There are plenty of rich highlights such as World Heritage site Chusonji Temple, the extraordinary scenery at Genbikei Gorge, and its famous specialty dumpling Kakkou Dango, also known as “Flying Dango.”You can also visit Rikuzentakata City and learn about post-disaster recovery efforts.
Prior to the disaster, a forest of about 70,000 Japanese red and black pine trees stood for two kilometers along the coastline. They were washed away by the tsunami without a trace- except for one. The lone, miraculous survivor became a symbol of recovery, and now a replica serves as a monument for future generations. This is a course to explore the tsunami disaster area and facilities around the Iwate Prefecture coast. It is filled with unique sights including Ryusendo, one of Japan’s Three Great Limestone Caves that was greatly damaged by a 2016 typhoon, the remains of Taro Tourism Hotel, which is preserved as a Great Eastern Japan Disaster monument, and the picturesque scenery of Sanriku Coast’s Jodogahama Beach. Enjoy the impressive, popular sites while also learning about the 3/11 disaster and recovery efforts.
This hotel was devastated on 3/11 when a tsunami flooded the building up to the fourth floor, leaving only pillars behind on the first two floors. With instruction from the Learning Disaster Prevention guide, tour the site and see footage taken from the hotel. Experience the conditions, thoughts, and emotions on that fateful day and learn about recovery efforts.

Tour to the disaster areas of Soma and Futaba, located on the coast of Fukushima Prefecture. You will learn about the reconstruction process from the time of the earthquake to today by visiting there. In addition, you can enjoy a lot of local specialties such as seafood and agricultural products and you come in contact with the charm that the area originally has.
Although most of the Odaka area which is in the the southern part of the city was included in the 20 km evacuation area of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, as of July, 2016, this area has been cleared of that status. You can get a real look at and feel for this area now.

You visit Iwaki’s first tsunami evacuation building completed in Hisanohama, which suffered from tsunami. You also visit an aquarium which was seriously damaged by tsunami. In addition, you can help local agricultural and fishery industries' recovery by picking famous tomatoes of Iwaki and shopping for seafood at Lalamew.
In this aquarium, you can learn about “Shiome-no-umi”, where Oyashio Current and Kuroshio Current meet off the coast of Fukushima. Shiome-no-umi is the main feature of the aquarium and consists of two tanks of Kuroshio and Oyashio, boasting a total water volume of 2,050 t.
